ASCENSION NEWS

+        UPON THE OBSERVANCE OF THE BEHEADING OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST, Orthodox Christians generally participate in a Day of Strict Fasting.  The exception to the “Strict Fast” is when the observance falls on a Sunday – which is always noted as a day of Resurrection, in which a Strict Fast is not observed. Today, abstinence from meat should be observed.

+        WEEKLY SANCTUARY VIGIL LIGHTS DONATIONS may be offered for the health of individuals, family members or in memory of departed loved ones.  A $75.00 donation for each week’s vigil lights is requested.  Names will be acknowledged in the Sunday Bulletin.   Call Kay to reserve your week.
