SUNDAY CHURCH SCHOOL
Children
begin the SCS program from Pre-Kindergarten (four years old) and go up to 4th
grade. Our dedicated teaching staff instructs our children on the
traditions and teachings of our Greek Orthodox Christian Faith. They guide
the children in developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the
Theotokos, and all the Saints, through an Orthodox Christian perspective.
With the planned future construction of our new Church facilities, the SCS
program will be expanded to include grade levels up to the 6th Grade, with the
hope that young people beyond those school years will involve themselves in the
Sunday worship devotional life of the Church, through Altar service or Jr.
Choir.
All our Sunday Church School children begin by lighting their candle at the special Sunday Church School "Pangari". Our Pre-K to 3rd Grade students then begin their lesson at 9:15 a.m. which last until 10:15 a.m. They then go into Church for the remainder of Divine Liturgy where they sit together as a class.
The 4th Grade students, after lighting their candle, go straight into Church at 9:15 a.m. where they sit with their teachers and classmates. After Holy Communion, the 4th Grade class meets until 12:00 Noon. Beginning this year (2008-2009) classes will be held every week.
