Junior Olympics 2023

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND
SS. Constantine and Helen, Palos Hills

Fifty-five youth athletes represented Ascension at the annual Metropolis of Chicago Junior Olympics over a beautiful Memorial Day weekend May 27-28, 2023 at Sts. Constantine & Helen in Palos Hills. Facing fierce competition, the co-ed softball team and girls volleyball team each advanced to the second round of their tournaments, and the 7-9 soccer team and 7-10 basketball team each advanced to the second day of competition. Competing both individually as well as on teams across 13 events, Ascension athletes ultimately brought home 1 Silver Medal and 3 Bronze medals! Congratulations to all our athletes! We commend them for representing Ascension with integrity and character in each sporting event. We also thank our dedicated coaches for devoting their time, talent and enthusiasm to this event. Finally, a huge thank you to Anna Goldenstein who organized the effort for our parish, ensuring that the day went very smoothly and was filled with fun and fellowship.
