Ascension's FAITH/JOY ministry was formed in 2015 and provides the opportunity for children in grades K-5 to learn and grow in their faith. Meetings take place once a month on a Friday evening, unless otherwise noted.  Each meeting consists of a lesson, craft, snack and fellowship time.  We also hold several special events and participate in various service projects throughout the year.  Friendships formed in youth groups have a tendency to last a lifetime.  Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to meet new families and friends and participate in the life of the Church!  For more information, contact

Faith/JOY meets on a Friday evening once a month at the church unless otherwise noted.   When in-person, parent volunteers are asked to donate and set up a snack at each of our gatherings.  Due to the fact we meet on Fridays, we will always have a fast-worthy snack for our children.  More details will be given when you sign up to help.  Although your home fasting rules may be different, we encourage our children to begin learning about fast days, even from now. Fruits, veggies, crackers, and graham crackers are some good options.

The 2021 St. John Chrysostom Ascension Oratorical Festival took place in mid April.  We thank our participants for sharing their God-given talents with us, and we appreciate all the time and dedication they put forth for their submissions. Their speeches, essays, poetry, chanting, and iconography were truly inspiring! A recording of this year's Oratorical program is available HERE and photos from this joyous event are posted in our website gallery HERE. Great job!   The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese along with our Metropolis typically announces the St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival in February of March each year.  Don’t miss the opportunity to show your God-given talents as a writer, speaker, artist and vocalist by participating in next year's program.  Details will be posted when available.
